Intro to UNC CS

Where it all begins

UNC is a good school. The curriculum and content are designed in a way so that you learn the latest information, have a good understanding of what you have learned, and can also retain what you have learned. One thing that is a guarantee at UNC is that the content of the courses is excellent. Other than that, there is a friendly campus culture, good campus life, great staff, world-class faculty, high-value networking opportunities, and enjoyable facilities (sports, student clubs, etc). Students should make the best use of these facilities. Above all, the UNC Campus and the Chapel Hill area are beautiful.

The CS Department

The CS Department is good and is getting better as time goes on. There are world-class faculty members and opportunities to do research. The core courses give you a strong foundation to learn whatever you want to learn in the field of computer science. There is a peer learning environment, it's less about competing with each other and more about helping each other learn. Companies from Big Tech and different sizes recruit students from UNC CS. There is also that large alumni network to make use of. From my experience, I have seen that many genius and talented students come to attend UNC CS. So the combination of great professors and genius students makes it a better experience.
